About This Lesson

In the years since 9/11, the World Trade Center site has been rebuilt into a space that both honors and remembers the events of 9/11 while also serving as a symbol of hope and freedom. Use this lesson plan to explore the question: How did the rebuilding of the World Trade Center affect New York City?

In this lesson, students will:

  • Be able to identify the rebuilt One World Trade Center.
  • Understand the thinking behind the design of the new World Trade Center.
  • Consider how the rebuilding of the World Trade Center affected businesses in New York City.

Lesson plans include interactive images, videos, and links, that are best viewed directly from our website using the link in the resources tab.
