About This Lesson

In April 2013, in the lead-up to the 2014 Scottish independence referendum, First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond gave a talk "Investing in an Independent Scotland" at Carnegie Council. The selected excerpt found here allows students to grasp the arguments in favor of Scottish independence from both a business and political point of view. Included are suggested questions for the classroom.
