About This Lesson

Arsenic is a toxic chemical that can be found in pre-2005 playground sets, picnic tables, benches and decks as well as contaminated drinking water. The health effects related to long term, repeated arsenic exposure include birth or developmental effects, skin cancer, lung cancer, bladder cancer, infertility and miscarriages. This fact sheet provides tips and easy-to-implement strategies for avoiding arsenic exposure in your child care facility, home and workplace.
