About This Lesson

This lesson asks students to prove a claim about how the Aztecs adapted to their environment using advanced agricultural practices. But their first source is just a map of the Aztec Lake Texcoco region. Once they've proven the claim, you investigate the source of the map (some weird guy on wikipedia), and when students realize they can't really trust the source, they see why it devalues their own work. Then you give them the real two sources on the Aztecs and have them re-prove the claim.
