About This Lesson

An activity to introduce children to the basics of addition and its written form with butterflies. Count the spots on the butterfly's wings and match it to the right flower. Children can write the sums down on the butterflies' bodies. If writing a number sentence proves too difficult, have students color in a block on the grid to correspond with the number of spots on the butterfly to demonstrate one-on-one correspondence. They can also use the grid as a ten frame. ECE-MATH
