About This Lesson

This is a 6 page handout that summarizes the 5 reasons why Great Britain was the first country to experience an Industrial Revolution. Those 5 reasons are coal, iron, labor, capital, and waterways. Britain had all five, at the same time. I work in the terms "supply" and "demand" as I teach that to my students immediately before this lesson. There are some check for understanding questions built into the handout, as well as pictures, maps, and diagrams to help them visualize what they are reading.
