When factoring a quadratic in standard form our purpose is to rewrite the expression as a product so we can apply the zero product property to solve for our variable. This form is called the intercept form. We will use the diamond, box, as well as the working the factors in our head to factor the quadratic. When we solve our quadratic we will have determined the zeros, x-intercepts, solutions and roots of the equation or function depending what you are given.
