About This Lesson
In this introductory literary analysis unit, students will explore and deepen their understanding of the central idea and themes. Students will read eight short stories (www.commonlit.org) and identify the central ideas and themes that emerge. Students will compare and contrast two texts in a multi-paragraph format. (For more advanced students, four lessons focus on modern songcraft and classical poetry.)
The unit includes Google Slides, worksheets, outlines, and models.
