About This Lesson

Through project based learning, students will investigate the question: How would life be different today if some of our most well known and helpful inventions had never been created or if the circumstances behind the invention had resulted in an alternate outcome?

Students will work collaboratively to research and answer this question by creating a Choose Your Own Adventure style book presenting alternative outcomes based on factual evidence.

Standards

Describe the relationship between a series of historical events, scientific ideas or concepts, or steps in technical procedures in a text, using language that pertains to time, sequence, and cause/effect.
Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.
With guidance and support from adults, use technology to produce and publish writing (using keyboarding skills) as well as to interact and collaborate with others.
