About This Lesson

This handout has students evaluate the Civil Rights protections by the Government from three perspectives: Constitutional Amendments and how they advanced civil rights (13th, 14th, 15th, and 24th), Congressional Civil Rights Acts (all 8 of them), and Presidential Actions by Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon that have helped and hurt civil rights of African-Americans.
