About This Lesson
Proof Positive’s Movie Guide on the Side is a specially curated bundle of science-informed activities to support you and your students in exploring wellbeing skills.
This resource starts with a brief overview of the happiness skill, PERMA+ Snapshot, and then provides key learnings to set the stage to practice the skill. The resource is then followed by a printable worksheet activity – Wellbeing Scenes – to put PERMA+ Snapshot into practice while watching any movie of your choosing.
Pick a scene from the movie. Then, rate the character’s wellbeing across the six elements of
wellbeing — Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Mattering, Accomplishment, and
+Health — for the scene. Where is the character doing well? Where might they need some
improvement? Then, try taking your own Wellbeing Snapshot!
Let’s dig deeper into your favorite characters’ challenges, strengths, and emotions, so you and your students can start to recognize where and how you can take control of your own wellbeing.
