About This Lesson
Dear Teachers,
I would like to share with you an important resource to help teachers during this pandemic which is currently being used from schools in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Cambridge in the UK.
Children all around the world have had their lives turned upside down and are suddenly surrounded with “big people” problems. In addition, their growing brains are trying to understand the big picture. What is a pandemic? What is the Coronavirus? Will my family be okay? The Coronavirus pandemic has not been easy for anyone, but teachers have an especially difficult task.
The Day the Lines Changed - Lesson Plan was created to give teachers support in dealing with this complicated topic and can be easily used in an online lesson.
Using the bestselling children’s book The Day the Lines Changed, an inspiring story about a green line whose life drastically changes when some of the lines in his town become crooked, it offers pre and post reading questions for teachers along with possible explanations, a story-time video where the book is read aloud, and art and writing lesson.
This lesson plan is also available for FREE online along with all Amazon links for The Day the Lines Changed: kelleydonner.com.
100% of all profits from The Day the Lines Changed in April have gone to Covid19 charities that support children's mental health.
You can read more about my book and why I wrote it on my webpage or in this article from Business Insider. If you have any questions, would like more information, or are interested in having me do a Zoom lesson with your school, please let me know at kelley.donner@gmail.com. Together we can make this tough time a little easier for children to understand and help them to just be kids again.
Kind regards,
Kelley Donner
