About This Lesson

In this lesson, students will examine the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and think critically about its implications for children around the world. In formal debate, students will research and make arguments for and against CRC ratification by the United States, thereby forming their own opinion on the topic. Optional extension activities provide ideas and information on how to promote U.S. ratification of the CRC for those who wish to engage in advocacy.
