About This Lesson

This activity specifically focuses on the equivalent representation of fractions, decimals and percentages. Deactivate any of the representations by clicking the buttons at the top of each one. Sort or shuffle the grid and count or estimate to work out the percentage, entering this as a decimal and fraction as well. A partner TESiboard activity called Decimals, Fractions and Percentages Coloring reverses the process, showing the values and asks the user to color in the grid.

This is an excellent review/reinforcement to see the connection between the visual area, fraction, decimal, and percent of numbers. I especially like that students have to name the amounts for all squares (the different colors) so that each column has to total either 1 whole or 100%.
