About This Lesson

A TESiboard pattern-making activity that explores symmetry. Click on the paint brushes to color in squares on the design screen on the right-hand side. Try out the design on the deck chair by clicking 'test'. This will also feedback whether the design is symmetrical or not. Multiple designs can be saved and arranged on a printable report screen. This activity is equally useful as a fractions investigation, e.g. 'how many different ways can you color in half of the squares pink and a quarter of the squares green?
