About This Lesson
These two maps show students the ethnic breakdown of Africa and the religious breakdown of the Indian Subcontinent pre-independence, and then show them maps of how African ethnic groups were divided and forced into nations and how India was partitioned. Students are asked to brainstorm the possible impacts of these changes.
