About This Lesson

This activity supports learning in design and technology; with strong links to art and design. It asks students to develop; plan and communicate ideas and use knowledge and understanding of materials and components to design and make models of fixed play equipment for a local park. This equipment could be aimed at toddlers; young children or teenagers and could be themed in order to promote awareness of the natural or built elements in the park. Students can either work in teams to create a single large piece of fixed play equipment or individually to create separate pieces of equipment.
