About This Lesson
The Extreme Event Webquest is designed to stimulate critical thinking about how to prepare for disasters and increase resilience in ourselves and our communities. Students use vetted online resources, videos, and games to gather information as they complete a series of activities.
The 3-module quest is completely customizable. You can use just one module or all three; you can edit the questions/instructions or the resources used; and you can decide which portions of the activity to use for in-class work, homework, individual work, and group work.
It takes about an hour to review the teacher's guide and student modules. The activity itself can take anywhere from one class period to a week, depending on how you choose to use the modules.
