About This Lesson

Ever wondered how to teach dividing multi-digit whole numbers in an engaging way to your 5th-grade or 6th grade students? Or struggling to think about how to plan a lesson on long division of whole numbers?

In this lesson plan, students will learn about long division and how to divide whole numbers by whole numbers using artistic, interactive guided notes. Through a doodle & color by number activity, a maze worksheet, and real-life application practice, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of dividing whole numbers.

The lesson wraps with a real-life example that explores how dividing whole numbers is used in practical situations to solve problems and make calculations.
