About This Lesson

Dr. Pedro Noguera is Dean of the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. As an educator and researcher, Dr. Noguera focuses on the role and responsibilities of schools to inquire, engage, and invest in issues of equity in education.

In this two-part talk, Dr. Noguera speaks about the importance of keeping students' needs at the center of our work to advance educational equity as we prepare for the reopening of schools. He asks us two fundamental questions:

1) What are the issues that your school or district must prepare to address as students return to school?
2) Who are your allies and partners in addressing equity challenges?
