About This Lesson
This year, bring election excitement and learning into your classroom or home with our Election Prediction Ballots and Election Night Bingo cards! The ballots are an interactive tool, inviting participants to predict key outcomes—from presidential and congressional races to wildcards like which state will be called first. Perfect for both classrooms and families, this activity prompts thoughtful predictions, followed by a reflection on the choices and the reasons behind them.
With the bingo cards, host an election night watch party for students, family, or your community to see who fills their card first! These activities build civic awareness and engage participants in meaningful discussions about the election's impact on their community and country.
Note: A free election glossary has been included in the resources below.
Thank you, AFT, for making this great packet for us teachers during this election cycle! It was very helpful. My only gripe is Question #5 on the Presidential Ballot form. The "popular vote margins" choices of when the election margins will be called is confusing and doesn't make a lot of sense. I personally believe if you all simply eliminate Question #5 and instead give students more space to write and reflect their observations of the 2024 election, that would be much more helpful. Other than that, this whole packet is very helpful and interesting.
