About This Lesson

You project the grid onto the board and pick 2 students to stand; one on each side. You ask a question eg simplify 5/10 and the first pupil to ‘slap’ the answer is awarded a point – the first to three points stays at the board and a fresh challenger is picked. Once students have got the hang of the type of question you can go round the room with students asking the questions – they get very good at favoring one of the contestants over the other. I usually have a rule that students cannot change their mind once they have slapped the board.
