About This Lesson

Since its inception, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum has been acquiring artifacts that document the actions of women and the important roles they played on and after 9/11. From responding aboard hijacked aircraft, to assisting within the Pentagon and Twin Towers, and representing local, federal, and state agencies, women responded with courage, valor, compassion, and skill.

Use the graphic organizer located in the resources tab to explore this featured online collection, which highlights the stories of the women who helped in countless tasks on and after 9/11 -- from providing emergency care, to reporting on the events as they unfolded, and even participating in every aspect of the monumental rescue, recovery, and clean-up period.
