About This Lesson

This game uses a standard deck of cards. The "Mini" cards from the Dollar Store fit perfectly on the handout. Students turn over two cards each time, the first is the numerator & the second is the denominator. Then, students compare their fractions & whoever has the greatest value gets all four cards. Play continues until one student has all the cards. You can extend this game by having the colors represent positive or negative. You also can extend this game by having students add, subtract, multiply or divide (they would have to flip four cards) & then compare their answers. 7.RP.A.3
