About This Lesson
A function machine for students to write down/visualize the outcome before checking using the machine. In Set the Function mode, challenge students to say what will happen if you add, say, five to the number, before demonstrating. Or use the Random Function mode, which will generate either an addition or subtraction. By putting numbers through the machine, challenge students to work out what function the machine is set to. The answer is hidden behind the reveal.
