About This Lesson
This module provides practical advice on funeral attendance by children and implications for relevant school policies. Parents often notify schools immediately after the death of a family member and before the funeral occurs. As such, school personnel may be the only professionals who have the opportunity to provide advice to these parents about the benefit of their children’s funeral participation after a death, as well as how to prepare and support children through the experience.
