About This Lesson
Geography - the study of the earth- an adventure, opportunity to learn about other cultures, our planet, the world around you, and so much more. A valuable subject to learn, understand, grasp essential facets, and information all around the globe. It is so essential to understand current issues and events, international events, developments, locations, productions, industries, land topography, valuable resources, government styles, and, more importantly, culture. Geography plays an important role when discussing culture, people, daily living, food, clothes, arts, humanities, crafts, resources, and finally, location and physical surroundings. We can use art, videos, read short stories, poems, watch movie clips, create something exciting and challenging, and combine these with a deeper understanding of the peoples of the world and how each group lives, their continent, regions, country, cities and more. We will look at physical surroundings, essential people, facts such as visiting "Ancient Egypt and studying the Nile River, "the significance of people groups, locations, features, and, ultimately, the rich history of each location.
Twenty-seven countries and six continents, creativity, thinking outside the box, investigating, discovering, taking part in, and ultimately only beginning to imagine how geography reflects other cultures and lifestyles all over the world.
By applying geographical concepts, we begin to understand physical-cultural relationships, features of the earth, and well as the cultures of its people. By students reading rich texts, seeing and hearing exciting lessons, they will have an understanding of religions, languages, customs, historical backgrounds, resources, and industries of each continent, region, and country will be presented.
This course is a hands-on activity-based course that will teach map skills, map studies, engaging online lessons, zoom class meetings, internet resources with useful websites to enhance each session, and finally, a research paper or project to complete this course. All courses will use applicable age-appropriate learning tools, activities, lessons, and more.
