I used this as a summative activity for my students as an alternative to the multiple choice/short answer cookie-cutter final test. The activity forced them to use the text as a resource and encouraged them to reread passeges looking for supporting evidence of the American Dream theme in the novel and use higher-level thinking skills to accomplish the task.
