About This Lesson
At the end of the semester, I set aside a month and a half for students to read a book of their choice. They could read it individually or in groups (have stern rules for being off-task early on or the students will socialize). I set aside different prized locations where the students could work as rewards. The key thing is to have them work on a certain number of pages per day and have a scheduled quiz. That way they are more likely to read on their own and motivate others in their group. There are C-level books and A-level books. Aligned to CCSS: RL.9-10.10
