About This Lesson
First time kindergarten parents are often confused about the guided reading leveling system. We use Fountas and Pinnell in my district. At the fall home visit, I bring sample A, B, C, and D books for parents to review. With this handout, they have some idea of where their children are at in reading and where they are headed. Kindergarten students in our district need to be at a Level D by the end of kindergarten.
