About This Lesson
This handout uses primary and secondary sources to describe how Haitian slaves were treated. Students are asked to evaluate why this situation would be risky for Saint Domingue (low life span for slaves, revolution by slaves, danger for whites who controlled slaves, danger for free blacks who allied themselves against slaves, etc.)
