About This Lesson

This handout describes the 14th Amendment for students, asks them questions about it, and then goes through the equal protections clause, Plessy v. Ferguson, and then presents 2 diagrams and a graph about New York City's Stop and Frisk Policy from 2002-2014, asking students if they think this violates the equal protections clause. Then, it goes into protected classes under the 1964 Civil Rights Act and looks at LGBTQ rights, and finally looks at the incorporation doctrine and the privileges and immunities clause.
