About This Lesson

Instead of focusing on the eight parts of speech and then moving on to parts of a sentence; this focuses on just the main parts.Ignore whether something is called an indirect object or a transitive verb; just focus on the main parts that work in the sentence. It includes complete subjects; complete predicates; participial phrases; appositives; gerunds; infinitives; prepositional phrases; and dependent clauses.Each part has a different color for which you can use highlighters or coloring pencils. The continued coloring and identifying can help visual learners.CCSS: L.9-10.1, L.9-10.2, L.9-10.3
