About This Lesson

This lesson plan is designed to engage Elementary School students and provide information on the lives and the roles of the women, children, and slaves on the home front. The students will also use primary sources to identify the ways that the news of the war traveled to the home front. This lesson plan is aligned to Common Core and National Council for the Social Studies standards and has been endorsed by the History Channel.
