About This Lesson
This is a good emergent reader to use as a literacy center during a unit on colors. It incorporates Pete the Cat to help students learn color and high frequency words. The high frequency words introduced are: it, is, I, my, like. The color words introduced are: red, green, orange, purple, brown, black. To help non-readers, the color words are printed in color.
