About This Lesson

Before the 1500s, New Mexico territory had mainly been occupied by the Native Americans. After 1540 and Coronado's Expedition through the area, another culture and way of life had been introduced. The Spanish settlers brought over many items with them including a lot of man-made resources to help them survive. This lesson will explore their culture and how the mixing of two cultures shaped New Mexico history as well as present day.
