In this activity, students will learn what makes an insect an insect by studying examples of insect adaptations and examining why there are so many different types of insects.
Students from 4th grade had an opportunity to participate in this activity. It was used after teaching living organisms, with their multicellular characteristics, too. They had to write why these parts helped them identify the insect as a living organism.
