My disability causes me some issues with motor, which makes anything involving the hands, which especially results in some very odd occurrence whenever I keyboard. Don't even say the swearword mouse... That is just an out of the universes mystery that nobody wants to touch. Needless to say clicking links does not have the same glorious magic for me that it does the rest ot the world. Thus, some of the documents did not get uploaded. I am deeply sorry. I will mark them as new below in the download section for ease of the user.
To Kill a Mockingbird HyperDoc Unit is beautifully done by Kendra Tyler. Kendra has a teachers guide to help make modifications to the unit. Her guide also helps to ensure that you correct all the sample links to student work that she used for her unit. She has also shared this as part of Teachers Give Teachers. She does not have a credit slide so it will be important that you make one.
Kendra's unit has many outstanding historical tie in activities. I have had very good success with using the historical pictures, video clips and newspaper artifacts to support my students with ELL and special learning needs. I have had students work to locate these resources and create a gallery walk of the specific issues related to the novel to include the poverty... I would make the Gallery walk digital as most students are now learning under a social isolation. The students adored this mural wall we created. We held a Gallery opening. I paired eleventh grade US History students with ELA 9 students to create historical themed presentations for Gallery. It was a powerful introduction activity for the kick off to To Kill a Mockingbird.
