About This Lesson
Prior to teaching this lesson; the whole of Pre-Kindergarten were taken on a bear hunt around the school - as we searched for the bear; landmarks were pointed out; and photos taken (for the PowerPoint mentioned in the lesson plan). The bear was found (a member of staff who 'volunteered' for the job...) and we returned to the class. We discussed the route we'd taken and went on to make a collaborative map on the whiteboard; and another using junk materials for a sensory map.
