About This Lesson

Students will use cabbage juice to measure the pH of different substances.  Background materials include information about how acids, especially amino acids are the building blocks of living organisms.  In addition, information is given about how meteorites have been found to contain organic acids and that these may have been the seeds that started life here on earth.
