About This Lesson

This unit is intended for advanced 9th and 10th graders or for all 11th and 12th graders. For this literature circle, students read novels with diverse settings and cultures. Students complete an advanced literature circle role daily, including theme tracker, world connector, discussion director, illustrator, and literature connector. Students perform a character analysis tic-tac-toe as their final assessment. The tic-tac-toe is differentiated by multiple intelligences, encouraging students to show their strengths but also stretch into other areas.
