About This Lesson

Basic knowledge of magnets is recapped (this can be done in conjunction with practical if desired) and the students then use a technique I use a lot called "Draw the sentence". Basically students have to convert 8 sentences on magnetism into drawings. This is a great assessment of their understanding and requires a lot of thought and consideration on behalf of the students.

A good PowerPoint with loads of pictures and diagrams. I really liked the idea in the second document which made my pupils draw the statements...it really made them think. Thanks for this!!

Great PowerPoint - the political science connection/pun (two poles-Poles) is fun, but I know I will have to explain it to some of my students.

But...not sure how the "Draw the Sentence" activity is supposed to work. One word per drawing? "Magnets ALWAYS have two poles, North and South" How would always, have, poles, North, and, South be shown in a drawing??

Please help. Would like to use the activity, too.

Thank you.
