About This Lesson

This is a literacy center to use for a Nursery Rhyme unit. There are two different versions, high frequency words, and upper and lower case letters. Pass out three cards to each child and place the rest in a draw pile. Each child takes a turn asking anyone in the group for a card that they need to make a pair. If the child asked has the card, he gives it to the child requesting. If not, he tells the other child to "Go Fish." Pair are placed face up. When the child is out of cards, he can take one from the draw pile. The high frequency words used are: the, I, like, see, a, no, yes, it.
