About This Lesson
This activity is most optimally performed as part of a field trip experience though it can be modified to fit a classroom. In Mission Teams, students find a piece of art that inspires them, write a poem, add music/sound/images/interview footage using technology tools and then present their final products to the class either on-site or when you return to the classroom. The exemplar materials are Starry Night (painting-Van Gogh; poem-Anne Sexton; song-Don McLean).
