About This Lesson

http://www.freemathvideos.com In this video series I show you how to solve a system of equations using substitution. When solving using substitution we need to take one equation and solve for a variable. Sometimes an equation will already have a variable isolated. If not it is helpful to choose the variable that has a one or negative one as a coefficient. Once we have a variable isolated. We take the expression that the variable equals and plug it in for the variable in the other equation. Now solving for one variable we find the first part of the solution. To find the second half of the solution we plug in our value of one variable into our isolated equation to find the value of the second variable. This math problem was filmed during online live instruction for class. This is my way of providing a free tutorial for students that want to learn math from an online tutor. Please visit my website listed above where you can view all of my math lessons. Every video is a short clip that shows exactly how to solve math problems step by step. The problems are done in real time and in front of a live classroom. These videos are intended to help you learn how to solve math problems, review how to solve math problems, study for a test, finish your homework and get a better grade in your math class. Please write to me and let me know how I can better help you!
