About This Lesson

These documents can easily become a DBQ. They show how the Mongols, Ottomans, and Spanish used technology to conquer empires. The tasks are to annotate the short-term and long-term impacts of the use of technology (for example, the short term are always an expansion of war and their territory, the long term are trade and/or the spread of disease and culture). I use these video clips for the Ottomans: http://www.history.com/shows/mankind-the-story-of-all-of-us/videos/fall… AND https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQ37zhk9i3o.
