About This Lesson
Using text evidence from the story, students are to create a textually accurate map of Ship Trap Island. In the "instructions" are the pieces of evidence the students will need to find to complete the assignment. Students can work in pairs to complete the assignment. I usually have the students complete a rough draft of the island first, then they complete a colorized final copy on poster board or construction paper.
