About This Lesson

Starts with discussing the process of multiplying fractions by integers; followed by 2 sets of differentiated questions (circles (a); squares (b) and ovals (c)); multiplying integers by fractions and multiplying fractions by integers. Then have a discussion about multiplying a mixed number by a fraction. For best results-Lower ability children should attempt the circles questions only; average ability should attempt the circles and squares questions and the most able should attempt all three sets of questions.

A very nice powerpoint looking at multiplication of fractions. The questions come in three different levels, easy (circles), medium (squares) and hard (ovals). Ideal as a main activity of a lesson or bits of it could be used as a starter/wrap up. Great opportunity for differentiated lessons.
