About This Lesson

This interactive Excel file generates random straight lines. There are buttons to reveal the gradient; y-intercept and equation of the line. This works brilliantly with mini whiteboards to start or wrap up a lesson. Make sure you enable macros.

Love that this generates many new lines for multiple chances to practice. Also love that the answers are available if you click for them.

Sorry but it bothers me that your y-intercept is a value and not a point. I don't accept single numbers for y-intercept. Students need to understand that the point (0, -3) is the y-intercept and the point (-3, 0) is the x-intercept. When they give me a number I have no way of testing whether they really understand which point is which.
