About This Lesson

This lesson has students try to identify what you need to make a cell phone, where the teacher leads them down a path of thinking that you also need governments, electricity, education, (the list can be 50 items long) and, fundamentally, food and water. And that is the entry point to the Neolithic Revolution - all we have cannot exist without a steady supply of food and water. The diagram is needed to explain the Neolithic Revolution and the Worst Mistake article by Jared Diamond comes next. I also added an article I wrote explaining the Revolution in my attempt to make it less boring.

Very detailed excellent for AP. I am going to use the Diamond piece for a Parlay discussion with my on level kids. Great assignment.

Neolithic civilization: an overview

Clear, concise. Engaging for students. A bit overboard on embellishing details. Disagree with the time dating and evolution. But a good lesson plan nonetheless.
